“ROCKAOKE NIGHTS are offering aspiring rock stars the chance to strut their stuff. This year SOHO, next year GLASTO…”
THE TIMES’ roving rock star / reporter Dominic Wells recently took to the stage with ROCKAOKE @ PUNK, Soho. Click here to read about how it went in THE TIMES ONLINE.
“..the Rockaoke night is the most fun you can have without getting arrested…”
Even though ROCKAOKE had performed around 1,000 gigs with an estimated 25,000 lead singers, the band had never performed in their hometown.
SHEFFIELD
This all changed on 5th may 2010 at around 8.30pm when the mighty ROCKAOKE hit the stage @ The Boardwalk.
Here (see below) is Carl Reid’s EXPOSED Magazine review of ROCKAOKE’s hometown debut. And he’s gonna book the band for his birthday – it’s all down here in black & white!
The phenomenon that is ROCKAOKE was featured in the March 2010 edition of COSMOPOLITAN (see below).
Featured on the “Sex & the (not so) Single Girl” page (p. 25), ROCKAOKE was deemed the sexyest thing of the month. Spare a thought for our old mate JLC who who’s album release was judged to be the saddest!
“ROCKAOKE. It’s cheesy karaoke’s cooler bro, where you sing with an actual live band behind you. Hello rock Goddess!”
Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan will sing Celebrity Rockaoke in aid of injured British soldiers.
The 22-year-old heads up the event at Manchester’s Moho Live and will belt out songs alongside Corrie co-stars Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster) and Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster) to raise money for BLESMA (British Limbless Ex Servicemen Association) and Macmillan Cancer Support.

“I’ve not decided what I will sing yet, but it will probably be a pop song with a rock edge – and I might have to rope in a friend or two for moral support!
“BLESMA is an underfunded but vital armed forces charity that really needs some help,” she continued. “I know someone who serves with 11 EOD REGT RLC Bomb Disposal Unit in Afghanistan and every day he risks his health and life. He told me just how much this charity needs help so I was more than happy to do what I can.”
She added: “Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. This is a charity very close to my heart.”
Other Corrie stars expected to take part include Shobna Gulati (Sunita Alahan),

In october 2008, ROCKAOKE were invited to Belfast to play The Empire Music Hall – a charity gig in aid of the Alzheimers Society. It was best ROCKAOKE gig of the year!
On 15th October 2009, the band were invited back. Te gig was just as good and just as much fun as the last time. Even better, the band were joined by an amazing line-up of judges – Cool FM’s PETE SNODDEN, West End star and finalist in BBC’s “I’d Do Anything” RACHEL TUCKER and the one and only CHESNEY HAWKES.
The highlight of the night was Chesney joining ROCKAOKE on stage to sing – you guessed it!
