ROCKAOKE had a great night yesterday playing the SMW 30th Anniversary Party at Wilton’s Music Hall, London. Such a great venue and a lovely bunch of people – isn’t that always the case at ROCKAOKE gigs!
Thanks to Fiona and Euan at Sonn Macmillan Walker for booking us and all at Wilton’s for helping to make it a very special night.
“Everyone’s still talking about the Rockaoke – and will be for some time!!”
“Thanks again for such a great night – it totally rocked!”
“Just wanted to say what absolute legends you were at the Sonn Macmillan Walker do last night. Such fun. Frightened to death to sing then didn’t want to get off the stage.”
Here are some photos from our recent trip to LISBON, Portugal.
It was brilliant to work with our friends and colleagues at ASPECT COMMUNICATIONS again and we had a great night performing for our client at SUD Lisboa, a fabulous venue on the north bank of the Tagus right by Ponte 25 de Abril. We got to spend 2 nights in the CORINTHIA Lisbon – very lucky us.
The weather was super nice for the time of year. So we took some nice photos – see below.
Above all – it was so good to be playing in Europe again. Our first overseas corporate event for almost 3 years since Prague on 28th february 2020.
Summer is one of the busiest times of the year for Rockaoke, as not only do we have a plethora of corporate summer parties, weddings and private events lined up, but also a full calendar playing some of the UK’s top music festivals!
Ever since we played at our first major UK festival back in 2007 (in the VIP area at V Festival), we have forged a reputation as one of the go-to interactive festival experiences. Using our ability to interact with and engage audiences both large and small, we’ve been booked as part of brand experiences and in our own right at festivals such as Standon Calling, Meraki and Car Fest. We give festival goers the experience of feeling like a rock star and fronting their own rock band; an experience not unlike that of the bands they’ve come to see….
So crack open a cold cider and get ready to unleash your inner rock god at a festival near you this summer:
27th May – NBHD Weekender – Victoria Park, Warrington
15th-17th June – Eroica Britannia – Friden Grange, Buxton
21st-24th June – Isle of Wight Festival
29th-31st June – Love Supreme – Lewes, East Sussex
20th-22nd July – Blue Dot Festival – Jodrell Bank, Cheshire
26th-29th July – Kendal Calling – Lowther Deer Park, Kendal
27th-29th July – Standon Calling – Lordship Cottage, Standon
3rd-5th August – Bestival – Lulworth Estate, Lulworth
11th August – Meraki Festival – Herts County Showground, St Albans
Old Mout Cider’s Kiwi Camp hosted yoga sessions and invited guests to take part in a ‘Rockaoke’ with Kaiser Chiefs lead singer Ricky Wilson and installed a superhero-themed slide, which visitors could slide down while dressed up in superhero costumes. Festival-goers could also sample three different flavours of the cider.
The Christmas party season is always the busiest time of the year for Rockaoke. It’s the perfect chance for CEO’s to strut around a stage instead of the boardroom, before being blown away by ‘Malcolm from IT’ whose death defying performance of Rage Against The Machine instantly becomes company legend.
Last year alone we brought christmas party rock stardom to the likes of Google, Sky, Mercedes F1 team ( including Nico Rosberg ), Ernst & Young, ASOS, Nintendo, O2, Leeds United FC and many many more. Here’s a quick glimpse at some of the 50+ parties played in December 2015 by the original, all singing, all crazy dancing, totally rocking, full band Rockaoke.
This Christmas we’ve come up with a few new tricks to add even more Yuletide fun to your christmas party. You can either add them onto the beginning of your Rockaoke based event or as a stand alone booking.
The Rockaoke Mariachi Band
Get the party going early with a visit from our sing a long Mariachi Band. It could be during a sit down meal, around the office in the afternoon or at a drinks reception; the band will walk around the crowd, playing classic christmas party hits and encouraging revellers to warm up their vocal chords. This is the perfect starter to serving up full band Rockaoke as your main entertainment course.
Acoustaoke
Your venue maybe a bit short on space or the neighbours oddly get annoyed by live rock bands next door – so why not consider Acoustaoke?! This is a stripped down, zero emissions version of Rockaoke, using acoustic instruments and minimal sound equipment. Acoustaoke goes down a storm at private house parties but would also drop nicely into a communal work space for lunchtime fun or as part of pre dinner drinks. Christmas party song lists and elf hats provided as standard and don’t worry, it’s just as lively as it’s big brother Rockaoke. See proof below
Using the hundreds of songs in their repertoire and a love of music trivia, Rockaoke have developed their own take on the traditional music quiz – and it’s perfect for any christmas party. Whether you opt for a few rounds during dinner or make it the main event, The Christmas Album provides festive rounds that mix a standard music quiz with ROCKAOKE madness. Test yourself with live intros / riffs, beat the night club singer, try to sing the next line or dare to take on the ROCKAOKE challenge. This has bamboozled contestants from the fields of Isle of Wight Festival to corporate events at Hard Rock Cafe.
“Rockaoke created a Live Musical Quiz for us at the Hard Rock Cafe last Christmas. It was perfectly pitched at our audience, with lots of relevant festive rounds which were both fun and interactive. The live rounds were great and the highlight had to be the sing the next line round which turned into a huge Bon Jovi sing-a-long at the end of the night – all in all, a great event” Faye Lewington – Senior Client Relationship Manager – BDO
Drop us a line and let us know what combinations of Rockaoke madness you’re prepared for this Christmas!
Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree @ F1’s biggest xmas party of 2011!
Christmas is always the busiest and best time of year for ROCKAOKE web link. The “rock band karaoke” concept was made for Christmas parties. 2011 was our best Christmas yet! And the sheer mindblowing awesomeness of a Rockaoke Christmas party has never been better encapsulated than at the Mercedes Brawn F1 Team Christmas Party of 2011…!!!
First, the guys were joined onstage by legendary F1 driver Nico Rosberg – they even learned his favourite U2 song on the night to help Nico fulfil his ambition of singing “Where The Streets Have No Name” with a live band. Next, Nico was joined by the brains and the brawn behind the team, Norbert Haug and Ross Brawn, and Norbert led from the front with a scintillating rendition of “Mustang Sally”.
But to top it all, and to put the tin hat on a stonking year for ROCKAOKE, the guys were joined for a grand finale of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by the great man himself – Michael Schumacher…!
In june 2008, ROCKAOKE were invited to perform at the high profile and prestigious event to launch WHATHiFi.com at AKA Bar in Bloomsbury. The organisers (the editors at WHATHiFi) wanted to do something memorable that got everyone talking about the event and what the event was about by association. And because of its interactive nature, ROCKAOKE always makes for a memorable night.
There were some very talented performers on stage and also some entertaining and totally impartial celebrity judges. It was a great night!
The perfect “X Factor” style event. Featuring competitors from rival commercial radio stations backed by the awesome ROCKAOKE.
Competitors from 8 rival commercial radio stations jumped on stage with ROCKAOKE @ Sound, Leicester Square for this “Commercial Radio’s Got Talent” event. The high-tech stage set, celebrity judges and host helped set the scene to create an unforgettable experience for both singers and audience alike. And for the band of course who had a great night, made a lot of new friends, ran up an immense drinks bill afterwards and made a very unfortunate rickshaw pilot take them back to their Kings Cross hotel.
Rock & Roll!
Songs ranged from Dolly Parton to Dakota, Stevie Wonder to Spice Girls. The winner sang (and played drums dressed as a gorilla) the very topical “In The Air Tonight”, which was featured on a popular Cadbury’s chocolate TV ad of the time.
